This is where something called the "Edgerank" comes to play a huge role in what is starting to be called "facebook news feed optimization"!
In this article you will learn some key factors that the facebook engine uses to attribute importance and authority to the users shares.

Basically what the Edgerank is all about, is a method that facebook uses to determine your authority by calculating a factor based on your number of shares that received good amounts of "likes", "reshares", and comments in the past, Vs the total number of shares, besides afinity to the friends to which the shares should be made visible, plus a time decay factor and a few more small indicators.

Facebook needs to know if your share is likely to be important to the other friends or not, and the good news is that you can do something about that! Welcome to the world of facebook newsfeed optimization ;)
The first thing to do to optimize your profile or page NFO-wise is to start initiating interactions with your friends/fans that they are likely to be responding to (quality content shares, polls, questions, personal messages .. etc).
Second thing is to look after your share frequency Vs. quality! if you share stuff of little importance too often, your shares get less attention by facebook and you lose authority.
One more thing you can do is to give incentives to your audience to take positive actions, such as asking your close friends to like your links and share them, or running a fan-only contest, .. you can also mass message your friends or members of your group and ask them directly to like your stuff ..

This post is based on the very little information that is available today on facebook news feed optimization and the Edgerank algorithme, I hope you found some of it useful, if I happen to uncover any new facts I will comeback to this page and post it here, so if you can keep a link back to me in your blog, it will help me spread the word more easily!
kindyroothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10360392770616053795noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367742008999357853.post-19421981102126507222011-05-10T09:36:00.000-07:002011-05-10T09:36:26.130-07:00Payment processing
Are you trying too hard to find a credit card processing system that integrates perfectly well to your business?

Let's watch the video first and then discuss in the comments!

However, it is not a simple business and many constraints need to be dealt with carefully! the first and most evident one is the delay in delivery (several months by sea), so it is clearly not for everyone.

This said, if you know how to do it, you can still make huge profits out of this business. you just need to learn how to trade with the chinese and do business with them and then how to ship your containers (I assume big volumes) to your homeland or distribution market.

Starting up in this business of import from china will require you to put your best foot forward and seek advices from those who have done it over and over successfully.

An e-book has been released in this question to help you setup your Chinese supply chain without losses, I personnally recommend getting it and understanding all its content before you import anything from china.

You can get a copy of this electronic book here.kindyroothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10360392770616053795noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367742008999357853.post-81644790147364860952010-11-20T21:59:00.000-08:002011-01-21T17:24:18.897-08:00How to import a car from Japan

Importing a car from Japan can be a tough matter if you don't know what you're doing but it offers a much larger choice of cars (some good cars are never imported to the western world) and cheaper prices too.

Actually some used cars in japan can be sold for half their price in the west but if you don't know how to by cars from Japan and import them you cannot make any profit from these car sales.

At last, a complete step by step guide had been released to help you import your car from Japan without trouble. I immediately thought I should share this with my readers so that they can benefit from it to get their next car at a fair price direct from Japan.

To my sens, google wave has terribly failed to become the next massive communication tool for humanity as it was intended by its creators to be.

I was one of the first people to rush to google wave and request a developper preview account, and I had seriously wanted to be one of the first people to develop for this new platform, but the fact is that Google wave has failed, and it had failed very bad. The only way to do 3D on it was then through software rendering, this led Ahmed Mansour (aka. Atphalix) to pick up an old 3D game (Quake 1) and heavily modify it to run smoothly on the XO, and this is was has been done to achieve the final result.
Now the developer along with the community sees this as a first proof of concept, and further work must be now done in this direction to provide the XO with a proper 3D library with optimized software rendering, and then to be able to develop nice educational 3D games for the kids.
The next step in the project of Ahmed Mansour (Alias Atphalix) is to transform the Quake1 and turn it into a real educational game called Abcube, by taking away all the violence, and the guns, and subtituting them with new things with nice graphics.

Note: Ahmed Mansour is also my brother, he is at this exact moment in another room of the house designing some objects with blender for his 3D game.kindyroothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10360392770616053795noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367742008999357853.post-51765027392502706032009-07-06T21:14:00.000-07:002009-07-06T21:24:34.623-07:00Buy a Djinn on ebay. Unbeliavable ebay guide reviews Djinn as a merchandise!I was astonished to come across this unbelievable ebay guide that presented and reviewed Djinn (jnoun, spiritual beings aka ghosts) as a mere merchandise, the article writer says he bought many djinns and that they're changing his life,..
This is not all !! a quick search on ebay, showed that many people were selling captive djinns, haunted wishing rings, and more, ..
I am totally astonished, I don't know what is going on out there on ebay, and wether people are actually buying this bullshit or not, I prefer to leave commenting this for you.kindyroothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10360392770616053795noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367742008999357853.post-29796416289039499692009-07-06T19:44:00.000-07:002009-07-06T20:04:06.880-07:0095% of the traffic that comes to this blog is generated by a single post!My stats indicate that 95% of total traffic that comes to this blog is generated by the sole old post that resolves a MySQL install issue (see history), so how did that happen? that was spontaneous, I had found a solution to a common problem that hundreds of people were experiencing every day, I published the solution on my blog, and posted links to it on the MySQL official forums and on a few other places on the Internet. Direct result to this action: a massive rush to my website from those unique places, to the point that I even added a link bellow the article to my cat food recipes blog, and that I generate a fair amount of daily clics from there!
Unfortunately, techy floks like you don't clic on adsense ads, otherwise I may have become a richer man, but the quality of my content allows me to build interest on other good websites of mine, and this is a nice thing too.
Now a question to you! what if you had a non-techy blog or website, and if ALL your posts/articles were benefiting from a similar targetted rush? how much money would you be earning monthly? I am not questionning your ambition, but I'm just trying to inspire you of some amazing ways for your website to get noticed, more on that is to come, hold on ;)

In case you'd like to discover my other dog food recipes blog, it goes here.kindyroothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10360392770616053795noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367742008999357853.post-4203259884660643582009-04-29T21:54:00.000-07:002009-04-29T22:02:47.077-07:00Video shows launch of world's largest amateur rocket

Amateur Rocket builder makes a 1/10th scale model of the NASA Saturn V rocket and launches it with amazing success on Saturday, becoming largest amateur rocket ever to take off and be safely recovered. The transaction is valued at approximately $7.4 billion, or $5.6 billion net of Sun's cash and debt. The proposed transaction is subject to Sun stockholder approval, certain regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Until the deal closes, each company will continue to operate independently, and it is business as usual."

This was quoted text from sun microsystems website
My personal comment is that this is the worse thing that could ever strike the IT industry second to Microsoft acquiring SUN xD, Oracle is actually not very different from Microsoft afaic.
The question now is what will happen to MySQL? and to the other open source projects held by sun.
Will sun continue to support open source and easy licencing of valuable pieces of software to small businesses and personals for free? or will it concentrate on providing premium integrated solutions to big Oracle customers?
If you are interested, you can partake in the related discussion on Slashdot.kindyroothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10360392770616053795noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367742008999357853.post-23981851189605770852009-04-28T12:49:00.000-07:002009-04-28T13:01:48.815-07:00General Electric announces 500 Gb optical disc !
This is the latest announcement from General Electric! the development of a new generation of optical (micro-holographic) discs to store up to 500 Gb of data.
This huge technological breakthrough is intended for the professional storage market but General Electric says it can land in the consumer market as well, portable players will even be compatible with existing DVD and Blu-ray discs!

This new technology relies on the three dimensional storage of information on the disc instead of tradition on-surface disc burning, this allows the reach of unprecedented data density on the disc.

The amount of data (500Gb) that this monster optical disc is capable of storing is equivalent, to a thousand CDs, a hundred DVDs, or 20 Blu-rays!!

A critical challenge for the research team, which has been working hard on this project since 2003, has been to find the right materials and techniques so that smaller holograms reflect enough light for their data patterns to be detected and retrieved..

More infos on this remarkable breakthrough can be found in this New York Times page.kindyroothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10360392770616053795noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367742008999357853.post-13056830841921078632009-04-24T09:57:00.001-07:002009-04-24T09:59:15.953-07:00Capof's Space:This is the name of the new Moroccan IT blog that I discovered today :) , this is a wonderful place where you can find news, and infos about anything regarding free software and Linux in particular, since the author seems to be a huge fan of anything Linux related, and that just couldn't suit me better.
In case you can't read french, the blog has a feature that enables you to view the content in the language of your choice, I think you should bookmark this one now!kindyroothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10360392770616053795noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367742008999357853.post-25804729341929901792009-04-22T10:34:00.000-07:002009-04-22T10:57:48.091-07:00can i register a domain name myself ?Whether you can register your own domain name yourself or not is a very popular question that keeps coming back again and again, so I decided to put some light into it ..

If you want a quick answer then NO, you MUST go through a "domain registrar", domain names are universal, then one can't just go register anything anywhere, this means that domain names management is centralized in the ICANN (Internet corporation for assigned names and numbers), ..

Some companies will be allowed by ICANN to sell domains to you, these companies will have to sign the Registrar Acreditation Agreement, other (smaller) companies will register a domain for you via an accredited registrar and resell it to you, that means to charge you extra fees.

The ICANN is a non-profit organization with members from all over the world and its main purpose is to keep the Internet secure and stable for everyone.

Although the ICANN doesn't make any profits from this business, The management of heavy loads of domain names induces considerable costs. For this reason, registration fees are due, this means your Internet registrar doesn't take all the money you pay them for themselves, they only earn a portion of it and give the rest away to the ICANN.

So all in all, you cannot register your own domain name yourself! I hope this helps.kindyroothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10360392770616053795noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367742008999357853.post-29908523119039594072009-04-20T09:47:00.000-07:002009-04-20T09:51:35.022-07:00Adsense stats not updating today ! (April 20'th 2009)Yes, and don't worry, your Google Adsense stats are freezing today, Google seems to be having a problem updating adsense stats, this has happened before (in 2004, 2006, and 2008 as far as i know), and this is normal, ads will continue to be served, and everything will be updated soon, Google engineers must be taking care of that a the moment.kindyroothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10360392770616053795noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367742008999357853.post-43063151100068531142009-04-19T03:44:00.000-07:002009-04-19T03:47:12.416-07:00Icepick: the wired houseTheir dark looking website shows supposedly logs of all what happens in the house, they claim to be running since 1998, we do know if all that is true or just a hoax, they don't say a word about their claimed technology.

I suggest you take a look at the website and tell us what you think about it.kindyroothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10360392770616053795noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5367742008999357853.post-92153193941722300182009-04-18T08:44:00.000-07:002009-04-18T08:50:25.304-07:005,25 GHz overlocking (World record)The question that this video raises the most for me at the moment is how could IBM attain the 5Ghz in its power6 processors (multi-cores !!!) with simple water cooling, while as this video shows, the 5 Ghz could hardly be attained using liquid nitrogen ! on a single core! processor? this is so weired, could IBM own an extremely advanced technology? to this point?
kindyroothttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10360392770616053795noreply@blogger.com0
